BUFFALO, N.Y. — A ferocious storm that’s dumped massive piles of snow on parts of Buffalo isn’t done yet.

Authorities say snow totals by this afternoon could top 6 feet of snow in the hardest-hit areas south of Buffalo, with another lake-effect storm expected Thursday.

Alfonzo Cutaia posted a video to YouTube of the storm rolling into the area.

Temperatures in all 50 states fell to freezing or below on Tuesday, leading to record-low temperatures more familiar to January than November. Racing winds and icy roads caused accidents, school closings and municipal delays even where snowfall was low or absent.

Motorists in 150 vehicles, including a women’s basketball team, were stranded in their vehicles on the New York Thruway. Most vehicles had been cleared by early Wednesday.

The storm has led to at least six deaths in New York, New Hampshire and Michigan.
