First Niagara bank robbed in Hamden

HAMDEN–A Hamden bank was robbed on Friday morning.

At around 11:30 a.m. the Hamden Police responded to the First Niagara Bank located at 1248 Dixwell Avenue after reports of a bank robbery.

The suspect handed the teller a note implying he had a gun and demanding money. He fled towarsd Circular Avenue with an undisclosed amount of money, and possibly entered an older Jeep Cherokee.

The suspect is described as a thin black male, around 20 to 30 years old and five-foot-eight. He was last seen wearing a North Face jacket and a blue Monarchs baseball cap.
