TORRINGTON – Nicholas Hulme, the teen accused of killing his mother, is in Torrington Police custody.

He will be arraigned tomorrow in Bantam Court for murder and larceny charges.

Hulme, 18,  was arrested in Sleepy Hollow, New York on November 6.

Police in Sleepy Hollow were alerted by Torrington police who were looking for the younger Hulme, whom they believed was in the area. They located the car with Hulme inside at a train station and took him into custody on charges of being a fugitive from justice.

Originally, police were called for a missing persons case. “There was actually two people missing,” said Sgt. Linas Venclauskas of the Torrington Police. The missing persons report was filed 19 hours before an officer went to do a check-up on the case and found someone dead on the third floor of the Forest Street home. “We secured the scene and then had to get search warrants, just in case this develops into something further. We wanted to take all the precautions,” said Venclauskas.

The Torrington Police Department still asks that anyone with information pertaining to the investigation contact the Torrington Police Department, Detective Jim Crean 860-489-2061 or Lieutenant Bart Barown 860-489-2036.
