MASHANTUCKET - Most people feel stuffed on Thanksgiving. Joey Chestnut got a head start Saturday .

Chestnut will turn 31 on Tuesday. He set a world record at Foxwoods when he ate 9.3 pounds of turkey right off the bone in 10 minutes. Chestnut is a professional competitive eater and lives in Vallejo, California. The contestants were faced with the challenge of eating as much of the 20 pound turkeys as possible within 10 minutes.

The previous record was set in 2011 by Sonya Thomas, who consumed 5.25 pounds of turkey.

In the end it was $5,000 payday for Chestnut. The other finishers split $5,000.

No word on if he took a nap after winning.
