NEW HAVEN–One would-be robber failed to leave with any merchandise from a New Haven Sam’s Mart on Saturday.

Police are looking for a man who entered the store, located at 14 Kimberly Avenue, on Saturday evening and tried to demand money from a store clerk. The clerk said the robber pointed his finger at the clerk in a way that simulated a gun, but the robber wasn’t holding his hand in his pocket.

The clerk grabbed the robber’s finger and told him to get out of his shop or he’d break his finger.

The man left the store before police arrived. The clerk described the perpetrator as Hispanic based on his voice.
