STAMFORD–Police are investigating a series of shootings that took place on Monday and Tuesday.
At 11:03 p.m. on Monday officers responded to Spruce Street on reports of shots fired. Officers found a bullet that had penetrated the vestibule at 80 Spruce Street, and two vehicles were also hit with gunfire. However, no witnesses or victims were found.
At around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday officers responded to another instance of shots fired at Myano Lane. Seven shots entered the back of the home, nearly missing a 17-year-old boy who was home. Four shell casings were found in the grass behind the home, and witnesses said they saw four black men with dark-colored jackets and hoodies running towards the back of Westover School.
The home on Myano Lane had been struck with gunshots on March 29 of this year as well while the residents slept. No one was hurt, and no suspects were identified.
At 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday officers responded to another incident on Connecticut Avenue on reports of a man who was shot. The 21-year-old man was grazed with a bullet on the top of his head while standing outside. He said a black man wearing a black jacket and gray hoodie appeared on the sidewalk adjacent from 121 Connecticut Ave. and shot several rounds. The victim ducked, but was grazed.
Two bullets and two shell casings were found. The shell casings were the same as those found earlier in the day on Myano Lane. Witnesses said the ysaw the suspect run south on Connecticut Avenue. The victim is expected to recover.
The Stamford Police Department believes there is a rivalry going on between youths from the Spruce Street area and the Myano Lane/Connecticut Avenue area. Police think all the shootings are related to the rivalry.
