STRATFORD – A plane made an emergency landing at Sikorsky Memorial Airport Wednesday morning.
The Bridgeport Fire Department confirmed that the plane landed shortly before 8 a.m.
The plane took off from Sikorsky at 7:50a.m. and was 20 miles away from the airport when one of the engines failed.
The pilot determined that the best course of action would be to return to Sikorsky where Bridgeport and Stratford fire departments were on standby at airport.
The plane, with seven people onboard landed without incident. The plane owned by Gama Aviation.
The general aviation airport is owned and operated by the city of Bridgeport, but is located in Stratford.
