State police looking for help in solving 2012 assault

MIDDLETOWN – Police are looking for  the public’s help in finding a suspect in a 2012 assault.

Police said on September 25, 2012 a woman interrupted a residential burglary at a home on Newfane Road in New Fairfield.  Police said she entered the residence and saw a male suspect.  The suspect assaulted her and according to police, left the home. Police said they don’t where he fled. State Police said K-9 patrols failed to turn up anything.

The woman was taken to Danbury Hospital for evaluation.

Police said the suspect was a clean-shaven black male with a medium complexion and brown eyes, approximately 30 years old, 5’8” to 5’10” tall, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black sneakers, and low riding blue jeans.

State Police released a sketch of the suspect.
