Hidden History: Danbury celebrates ‘Hat Day’

DANBURY–On this week’s Hidden History, photojournalist Mike Townsend looks at the origin for one Connecticut town’s nickname.

At one point in time Danbury was the “Hat City,” the capitol of all head wear. The town held that distinction for more than 100 years, but the factories haven’t been open in decades.
