SIMSBURY – Thursday afternoon, two weeks after Melissa Millan was found stabbed and killed on the side of the road, police held a news conference to announce they have still not made any arrests in the case.

The MassMutual executive was out jogging near the Iron Hourse Blvd Bike Trail between 7:30 and 8 p.m. on Nov. 20 when a driver discovered her and called police. Officals say they have conducted interviews with her family and friends and following many leads.

The town stresses that it is safe to use the trail but to take general day-to-day precautions and report any suspicious activity.

The department also says it’s spent significant resources on the investigation and continues to work diligently to hold the person or persons accountable.  State Police Major Crimes is assisting in the case.

Additional patrols are in place near the scene of the crime. Police have not determined if the crime was random or a targeted attack.

Police are cautious to release information so as not to hamper the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call 860-658-3145.
