NEW BRITAIN – A man was arrested Monday as a result of an incident that occurred on Nov. 27.

In November, officers were called to a home for a medical call regarding a 3-year-old boy who wasn’t breathing.

Kutaieba Alsamman, 29, of New Britain, was identified as the suspect who had caused injury to the child. On Dec. 8, Alsamman was arrested.

Alsamman was charged with assault in the first degree, risk of injury to a child and intimidating a witness. He was arraigned in court on Dec. 8 and is being held on $750,000 bond.

Police have not said whether Alsamman is the father of the child, but did say the victim was known to him.

The child is still in the hospital, but the child’s condition is not known.
