Stop & Shop has issued a voluntary recall of Ian’s All Natural Italian Style Panko Breadcrumbs after it was recalled by its manufacturer because it was mislabeled.
The supermarket company said the tagline “allergy-friendly, gluten-free” may be misleading, because it contains wheat, an allergen, which is listed on the ingredient list. Stop & Shop said in a statement, “This product is safe to consume for individuals who do not suffer from a wheat allergy.”
The specific product under recall is Ian’s All Natural Italian Style Panko Bread Crumbs, 9 oz., UPC 74951277220 with an expiration date of 31MAY15, 11OCT15 & 17OCT15.
There have been no illnesses according to Stop & Shop. The company said, “Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Stop & Shop for a full refund.”
