New London woman arrested for stabbing someone during a fight

NEW LONDON–A woman was arrested on Thursday after an investigation into a fight that occurred on Nov. 27.

Myiesha Smith-Reyes, 19, of New London, was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree. She is being held on a $75,000 bond.

On Nov. 27 officers responded to a home on reports of a fight going on, and found Smith-Reyes with minor injuries. She was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, and a short time later a second victim arrived with multiple stab wounds. The second victim’s injuries were life threatening, and the victim underwent emergency surgery.

Evidence from the crime scene and witness statements led investigators to arrest Smith-Reyes.

The Waterford Police Department assisted New London detectives in taking her into custody.
