Water Main Break

HARTFORD – The light snowfall and a water main break caused problems for the morning commute.

In West Hartford, a water main break on Simsbury Road and Tumblebrook Road caused the road to be closed at Simsbury Road and Main St. MDC was on the scene and shut down the water in the area. Repairs to the eight and twelve inch pipes that were installed in the 1950s were completed by 11 a.m. and service was restored.

In Burlington a car rollover on Route 4 caused the road to be closed between Mountain Spring Road and Punchbrook Road. One person was trapped with injuries and wires were down. The road was expected to be closed for the next several hours.

Wethersfield

In Wethersfield, a car hit a  pole and caused Back Lane to be closed from Prospect Street to Monroe Way. There were no injuries.

In Rocky Hill, West Street was closed from Gilbert Street to Main Street for a  pole down. The road has since reopened.
