Recently, a protest was held on the New Haven green to promote charter schools, and in general better school options for students. In all, 6,000 people attended the protest, asking for bold steps to be taken in the next session of the legislator.

Maribel LaLuz says the graduation rate in Hartford Public Schools has increased from 29 percent to 72 percent due to school reform over the past several years, but that that reform needs to continue and extend across the state.
