CHESHIRE - Police are investigating after two bodies were found inside a home on the 700 block of Cornwall Avenue in Cheshire, Tuesday night, in what appears to be an act of family violence.
The deceased are believed to be family members and police said
Police said the 911 emergency call came in at 3:45 p.m and originated from the home in question.
Neighbors tell FoxCT it is 772 Cornwall Avenue.
Police say two people were found dead inside the home and there is no immediate danger to the public.
According to Police Chief Neil Dryfe, the two victims were found in separate rooms, and the shooting happened inside the home.
State police and medical examiners will process the crime scene.
The home is just yards away from the "Doolittle Elementary School", also on Cornwall Avenue, which police say, prompted concern from parents and area residents when police cruisers arrived Tuesday afternoon.
Area resident, Daniel Byrd, said he rushed outside Tuesday night when he saw the cluster of police cars in his Cheshire neighborhood.
"I found out really quick, especially in this town, people know each other and things tend to spread pretty quickly," said Byrd.
Byrd, a 2013 Cheshire High School graduate, learned what police would later confirm, what two adults were dead after a shooting inside the Cornwall Avenue home.
"It's just… really sad," said Byrd.
Cheshire Police Chief Neil Dryfe addressed the media.
"It's a horrible tragedy any time you have an untimely death, particularly this close to the holidays," said Dryfe.
The Chief said no suspects are wanted at this time and added that all parties involved in the crime were inside the home and now deceased.
"We have a crisis intervention staff from the town of Cheshire involved with the family right now- we're obviously going to provide whatever services we can to them during their time of need," said Chief Dryfe.
Just days since the weekend car crash that killed 19 year old Cheshire High School grad, Isabella Gozzo, neighbors say this incident is tough to take.
"It's really shocking when someone so young dies and now to have this happen right after that is… really devastating," said Byrd.
Neighbors like Byrd and friends on Twitter appeared to have determined which family was involved in the tragedy Tuesday night, but police said they are withholding the victims' names until all immediate and extended family members have been notified.
