Suspect barricaded in Watertown after firing shot toward police officer
WATERTOWN – Police are on the scene of a person barricaded in a home who shot toward a police officer.
According to Watertown Police Chief John Gavallas, a 27-year old military vet was alone in the home and took a shot toward police. A family member told police the man has suffered from post traumatic stress disorder. No one was injured. Officers set up a perimeter around the home located at 179 Bryant Rd.
A family member called police around 10:30 a.m. according to Gavallas. Thirty law enforcement officers from the Regional Emergency Response Team, the Watertown Police Department and Waterbury Emergency Response Team were on scene and were negotiating with them man in the house and making progress.
