ANSONIA — Ansonia police said a car was reported stolen Monday, then set on fire.
Around 6 p.m. the Ansonia fire department found the car fully engulfed in flames at Linnett Park on Crowley Street.
The 2012 Nissan Altima was a total loss, police said.
The car was reported stolen from Fifth Street in Ansonia earlier in the day.
Witnesses said they saw the car driving erratically, then they heard a loud bang and saw the car on fire, police said.
People were seen running from the car, police said.
Police and the Fire Marshall said the fire is suspicious.
