BRIDGEPORT–An arrest has been made in the stabbing death of a man on a Route 25/8 exit ramp.

Anthony Espinal, 36, of Bridgeport. was arrested on Tuesday and charged with murder. He is being held on a $250,000 bond and is due in court on Wednesday.

On Dec. 18 at 11:20 p.m. State Police got a 911 call from a witness who said two people were outside their cars and acting aggressive on the exit 5 ramp on Route 25/8 southbound. Just after that call ended troopers got another call from one of the men involved in the altercation who was requesting police assistance. Police could hear a scuffle on the phone before the call was disconnected.

The caller involved in the incident called police again and said he had moved to the corner of Lindley Avenue and Capitol Avenue. Bridgeport Police arrived at this location and secured the man and his car while state troopers went to the scene of the altercation. They found a man severely injured, and he soon died at the hospital.

The man who was killed was Bryant Kelly, 26, of Bridgeport. He died of a stab wound, according to the office of chief states medical examiner.

Witnesses and evidence led to the arrest of Espinal.
