Today will be only the second time this month that we stay at or below freezing; it’s also the coldest day in over a week as the Arctic Express is open for business this week. Temperatures will average in the upper 20’s to low 30’s for the rest of the week, with dry conditions persisting. Again, New Year's Eve looks cold at night, as anyone headed out to celebrate will have to bundle up! Next chance for a storm will be Saturday night and Sunday with the potential for a wintry mess in the form of snow, sleet, freezing rain and plain rain. If the storm tracks to the west of northeast then we get rain, tracks south and east of New England then we get rain. Currently, it is still too early to tell if the storm will deliver a winter wonderland or just rain. The FOX-CT Weather Team will keep you updated this week on this potential weekend storm.
