PLAINFIELD — Police arrested a woman after she drove under the influence with her daughter in the car.

An officer who was on traffic enforcement saw a 2013 Hyundai Accent driving east on Main Street shortly after 8 p.m. The car was swerving and crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic.

The officer stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Main and Lake streets.

The driver, Cynthia Buell, 44, told the officer that she had been drinking alcohol. She also told the officer there was an opened beer bottle in the center console.

The officer saw a 15-year-old in the passenger seat, which Buell identified as her daughter.

Buell alerted the officer that she had a marijuana pipe in her front pocket. When the officer asked Buell if there was any marijuana in the car, she replied yes.

Upon searching the car, the officer found a jar with less than a half ounce of marijuana in it.

Buell is charged with failure to maintain a proper lane, operating under the influence, drinking alcohol while operating a motor vehicle, risk of injury to a minor, possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 12th.
