LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man charged with fatally beating three neighbors in a public housing complex for the elderly and disabled has been held without bail.

Salvatore Guglielmino of North Andover interrupted as charges were being read at his arraignment Wednesday, saying, “That’s a mistake, judge.”

Authorities say the 57-year-old killed 78-year-old Walter Hamilton, 79-year-old George Kettinger Jr., and 68-year-old Frank Kort on Tuesday. The four men lived in different units in the same building.

Prosecutors say the victims had blunt force trauma injuries to their faces. They wouldn’t disclose a motive.

Defense attorney John Morris says his client denies committing a crime.

According to the police report, Guglielmino told his sister he “kicked down three doors and killed three people.”

Family members say Guglielmino was taking medications for manic depression and bipolar disorder.
