WILLIMANTIC–An apartment in the Foster Drive complex in Willimantic suffered a partial collapse of its kitchen ceiling on Monday afternoon, according to the public information officer for Willimantic Police.
No one at the Foster Drive apartments sustained any injuries, but pipes in the building did burst after the tenants left the heat off while on vacation for several weeks. This is what caused the collapse.
The residents of the impacted apartment were displaced for the time being.
