Expect another cold, frosty mid winter morning. Temperatures are in the single digits and teens with a light wind. So even though it’s very cold; at least we don’t have the brutally cold wind chill temperatures to deal with, as you head out the door early this morning. There will be a light wind with mostly sunny skies for the most part with the exception of some clouds rolling in from the Atlantic Ocean across areas of eastern Connecticut.

Tonight will be another chilly night but will not be quite so cold compared to the past couple of nights, as clouds will move in ahead of a cold front. The front will cross the region early tomorrow morning with another surge of arctic chill. Temperatures will moderate this weekend as a southerly flow develops causing a warm-up with sunshine for your Saturday. In fact, temperatures could crack 40 degrees by Sunday when a few rain showers could move in by the afternoon. Expect a period of rain overnight Sunday into early Monday morning. If the cold air rushes in early Monday, the rain could change to snow before ending early Monday morning.
