Idina Menzel will sing the national anthem at Super Bowl XLIX, the NFL and NBC announced Friday.
The star Broadway singer, who has developed a huge following since voicing ice queen Elsa in the animated blockbuster “Frozen,” continues a long line of notables who have taken on the anthem, including Whitney Houston, Renee Fleming, Billy Joel and Christina Aguilera.
R&B star John Legend will sing “America the Beautiful.”
Treshelle Edmond will accompany both with American Sign Language.
Super Bowl XLIX will be played February 1 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
