HARTFORD–Super Bowl time doesn’t only mean big ratings for TV networks–it also means big revenue for sports apparel companies.
Hartford-based Gima Sport has been doing embroidery for World Series baseball hats for years, including the 2013 match-up between the Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Now the company has added to its repertoire. Two years ago Gima started embroidering Super Bowl hats. Since the Patriots defeated the Colts on Sunday night to move on to the 2015 Super Bowl, the company has been working overtime making baseball caps and knit, beanie-style hats for the Patriots-Seattle Seahawks game.
The hats will be sold in stores like Bob's and Dicks Sporting Goods as early as Tuesday.
