HUNTINGTON, New York (PIX11) — Authorities are investigating a sledding accident during which a teen was killed on Long Island during the first major snowstorm of the year.

Suffolk County police said three 17-year-olds were taking turns snow tubing down Chester Court at about 10 p.m. Monday when one of them, Sean Urda, hopped on the tube, apparently lost control and struck a light pole.

Urda was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
