NEW LONDON -- With a state of emergency declared, New London is ready for heavy snow, coastal flooding and gale force winds.

As of 10 p.m., around 2 inches of snow had fallen, but that amount was expected to increase as the night continues on.

Snow plows and emergency management officials are around the city, but city leaders urge neighbors to stay indoors.
