WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Big E was just recognized with a big honor.
The annual fair in East Springfield was ranked the fifth largest fair in North America.
Many Connecticut residents attend the event every year in the fall.
This was the second year the Big E came in fifth place on the list.
The Eastern States Exposition joins the Texas State Fair, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Minnesota State Fair and San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo in the top five.
Nearly 1.5 million people went to the 2014 fair, organizers said.
Sept. 20 was a record breaking day last year—with the most people visiting the fair in one day.
