NEW HAVEN — New Haven firefighters are battling a fire in freezing cold temps Thursday morning. The fire is at 95 Spring St.

Fire started in the basement of the apartments that are in the same building as the Chinese restaurant. As a result of the fire, Howard Avenue is closed but Spring Street was reopened.

Fire officials said it is a two-story brick building. Four fire engines are responding to the fire.
