STORRS - Today was National Signing Day for high school athletes preparing to make their college athletic dreams come true.

UConn Football was able to sign last year's Gatorade Player of the Year, Dario Highsmith, of Middletown, who was thrilled at the prospect of attending a state school so his family would still be able to watch him play.  In addition, UConn Football not only sent out 22 letters of intent, but received all 22 of those players today.  Those top athletes represent 11 states, the District of Columbia, and even a Canadian province, and include the top-rated wide receiver from New York.

If National Signing Day is any indication, it looks like next year is going to be a great year for UConn Football.

In other news, Kingswood Oxford's Sharrieff Grice is headed to Boston College in the Fall to continue his impressive football career.  See his interview with Fox CT's Jimmy Altman below.
