HARTFORD – Magic Mike is back, and from the new trailer, it looks like he and his boys have finally arrived in Miami.
Channing Tatum reprises his role as his stripper alter-ego, as well as Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash and Adam Rodriguez . New cast members include Elizabeth Banks, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Donald Glover, Amber Heard, Andie MacDowell, Jada Pinkett Smith and Michael Strahan.
Tatum made a surprise appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show on Tuesday, Feb 3 to debut the trailer for the Magic Mike sequel, Magic Mike XXL, scheduled for a summer 2015 release.
“I don’t know anything about it except that I’ve heard that you and tWitch, there’s a dance that you do together, right?” Ellen DeGeneres asked. Tatum replied, “Spoiler alert. We do have a dance together.”
“In thongs,” DeGeneres said.
“Maybe in thongs,” Tatum teased. “Yeah.”
“In thongs,” DeGeneres repeated.
“Yeah, in thongs,” the actor conceded.
“There’s just nothing— there’s nothing!” he added. “Very little left to the imagination.”
Unlike Magic Mike, director Gregory Jacobs reveals, the sequel is “dramatic and emotional but not as dark. It’s such a great group of people. We had a blast making it. I hope that comes across on screen.”
