NORTH HAVEN – A North Haven man is accused of stealing his sister’s identity and racking up $20,000 in expenses. In 2014, a collection company contacted the 95-year-old woman informing her that a credit card in her name was delinquent, police announced Thursday morning.

Police determined Thomas Anastasio had opened nine credit accounts in his older sister’s name. Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Anastasio and he was taken into custody on Jan. 31.  He was charged with Larceny First Degree, and Identity Theft First Degree.

Anastasio will appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 19.
