(CNN) — In case a Star Wars-heavy museum, Darth Vader snow sculpture and, of course, upcoming Star Wars film aren’t enough to keep the cash machine’s spirit alive, diehard fans and indifferent tourists will soon have the opportunity to see the most popular “Star Wars” characters immortalized in wax.
Wax museum Madame Tussauds London has announced it will open a multimillion dollar interactive “Star Wars” exhibit this May.
Spread across two floors, the exhibit will feature replicas of 16 characters from both the original and prequel trilogies, including Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Yoda.
Working in collaboration with Lucasfilm and its parent company, Disney, Madame Tussauds’ sculptors will be able to reference authentic film props, costumes and design plans.
Sculptures typically take 20 sculptors four months to create.
“Guests will not just be able to get close to their film heroes, they will be able to star alongside them and grab a selfie in specially recreated scenes of some of their favorite movie moments,” said Ben Sweet, Madame Tussauds London’s general manager, in a statement.
The 11 walk-in sets reproduced will include the flight deck of the Millennium Falcon, Jabba the Hutt’s throne room (complete with bikini clad Princess Leia and carbonite-encased Han Solo) and the Episode V scene in which (spoiler alert!) Darth Vader reveals that he is in fact Luke Skywalker’s father.
“Guests will become truly immersed in the films in a new and exciting way,” Sweet said. “We hope to delight fans and give them a unique way to celebrate the ‘Star Wars’ story.”
