NEW BRITAIN- Firefighters battled a late night fire on Gold Street.

According to New Britain Public Safety, the fire started around 10:30 p.m. Flames were coming from the first and second floor of the multifamily home.

Residents who were first to notice the fire called out to others in the house to get out.  Luckily no one was hurt.

The snowy weather made fighting the fire difficult for firefighters. The tall snow banks from previous snow storm slowed down their efforts.

The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshall.
