HOLLYWOOD – It’s been a long road for Guilford native, Nick Fradiani, whose star potential earned him a golden ticket to Hollywood during the American Idol auditions in the Fall of 2014. The singer, who currently resides in West Haven, went to the New York City Idol auditions with his girlfriend, Ariana “Yanni G”, and auditioned with Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes”.
His rendition impressed the Idol judges, and he was presented with a coveted golden ticket.
Several months later, Hollywood Week began, starting with the ever-difficult group performances, and Fradiani was paired with Michael Simeon, 21, of Mississippi, Jaq Mackenzie, 15, of California, and Hunter Larsen, 20, of California. The group, given Magic’s “Rude”, dubbed themselves “Team Dimples”, and performed a unique, harmonized rendition that thoroughly impress the judges.
All four of Team Dimples made it through group auditions to solos, and are now standing on the precipice of fame. Top 48 selections begin tonight at 8 p.m. and carry through until tomorrow.
Watch American Idol tonight to see if our 29 year-old CT native, Nick Fradiani, makes it to the Top 48 to perform live at the House of Blues next week!
