PLAINVILLE–After an infant ended up in the hospital in critical condition in December, police have made an arrest.

On Dec. 17, 2014, Plainville Police responded to Stillwell Drive for reports of an unconscious infant. The 2-month-old boy was taken to Central Connecticut, and then transported to CCMC. The infant had multiple injuries, including to the head .

The infant remains in critical condition, as he has been since the incident.

Originally, it was reported that the infant’s injuries were due to an accidental fall, but an investigation, aided by exams by doctors, indicated that the injuries weren’t consistent with a fall.

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, the infant’s mother, Caitlin Knight, 27, of Plainville, was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree and risk of injury to a minor. She is being held on a $1.2 million bond and is due back in court in March.
