Summary Of Sandy Hook Shooting Investigation To Be Released Monday

HARTFORD–A Venezuelan man who was charged with threatening Newtown families two days after the Sandy Hook tragedy was charged in federal court on Thursday.

Wilfrido Cardenas Hoffman, 31, of El Hatillo, Venezuela, pleaded guilty on December 11 to making 90 calls to 47 phone numbers in Newtown days after the shooting; not all of the calls went through or were answered.

He was sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

“With today’s sentence, Mr. Hoffmann has been held accountable for his despicable actions that only served to perpetuate the pain and suffering the families living in Newtown have endured,” stated Special Agent in Charge Patricia M. Ferrick.
