Willimantic man arrested after robbing CVS

WILLIMANTIC–Police were able to arrest a man after an armed robbery at a CVS pharmacy on Tuesday morning.

Daniel Peter Ashford, 37, of Willimantic, took an undetermined amount of cash from the CVS located at 1200 Main St. No one was hurt at the pharmacy.

Police and a K-9 unit tracked Ashford to a residence on Main Street and arrested him.

Ashford was charged with robbery in the first degree, threatening, larceny in the sixth degree, breach of peace in the second degree and interfering with an officer.

Ashford is also being investigated for two other armed robberies that occurred in Willimantic.

He is being held on a $500,000 bond and is due in court on February 18.
