HARTFORD – A big oops from the Governor’s office means more cuts are on the way. Fox CT has learned the budget was miscalculated by $60 million. Now, lawmakers will need to figure out where to cut an addition $55 million from the plan Gov. Malloy unveiled last week.
A spokesperson for the governor’s office blames the miscalculation on an error in projecting the state’s growth in personal income. The GPI is a major factor in determining the state’s spending cap.
Governor Malloy will not revise the budget. He’s leaving it up to lawmakers to rework.
