CHESHIRE -A water main break caused a section of Rt. 42 to be closed Tuesday morning.
Cheshire Police said the break was on South Brooksvale Rd, between North Brooksvale Rd (Rt 42) and Mount Sanford Rd. Police said drivers often take the routs to get from the Hamden area to the Shelton and Bethany area.
Police said the closure is expected to last throughout the morning and could last into the evening commute.
There was one accident as a result of the main break with no injuries reported by police.
