UNITED KINGDOM- There has been a lot of crazy, weird, hybrid food concoctions lately, (ahem, Thanksgiving flavored chips) but this new product from KFC has me really excited. Edible coffee cups called the “Scoff-ee Cup.” The Telegraph is reporting that the new edible treat “is made from biscuit, wrapped in sugar paper and then lined with a layer of heat-resistant white chocolate to keep the coffee hot and the cup crispy.”
Eventually, the chocolate lining melts, the cookie becomes soft , causing it to melt in your mouth. KFC UK has teamed up with Seattle’s Best coffee with a planned test run this summer with a limited number of stores participating.
Aside from the cup being a cookie, a sugar wrapper and a chocolate lining, they also smell delicious. Cups are infused with different aromas such as coconut sun cream, freshly cut-grass and wildflowers. One of the founders Brandy Wright believes, “these scents were used in our recipes as they have a natural ability to evoke the positive memories we associate with warm weather, sunshine and summer holidays. Things that make everyone smile.”
Pros: You won’t have to look for a garbage can, and you get a cookie with your coffee.
Cons: It could smell like freshly cut-grass.
