KEENE, N.H. – Thrills, chills and things that go bump in the ice.

When the sun goes down on Keene, New Hampshire, you can get down too. Skiing and snowboarding share the spotlight with tubing at the Granite Gorge Ski Area.

On the snow-covered slopes, aboard inner tubes, you’ll hear plenty of outside voices. “It’s absolutely a blast, “ said Granite Gorge owner, Fred Baybutt.

With disco balls, a few glow sticks and black lights lining the three-lane course, it’s tubing with a small touch of a cosmic twist.  “Anybody can do it, you don’t need any experience,” Baybutt said.

Riders can choose to ride solo or in tandem, and there is always the option to have a tubing park attendant start your ride with a wild spin.

Baybutt added, “Whenever the ski area is open, tubing is open – day or night.”

Granite Gorge is located on state Route 9, Keene/Roxbury New Hampshire. Snow tubing sessions typically last two hours and cost $18. You must be 5 years old to ride. For more information click here.
