GRANBY–Administrators from Granby Memorial High School say the school was put in lockdown around 2:05 p.m. on Thursday.

Administrators received a tip that a student was threatened with the use of a firearm on social media by someone who wasn’t part of the campus.

The middle school, which is adjacent to the high school, was also put into lockdown.

The suspect, Darien Beasley, 18, of Hartford, was quickly found at a private home in Granby and the lockdowns were lifted. Beasley was charged with threatning in the first degree and breach of peace in the second degree.

He is being held on a $1000 bond. If he can’t post bond he’ll appear in court on Friday, and if he does pay it he’ll be in court on March 17.

Police say more arrests are possible.
