EAST WINDSOR–A woman was assaulted early in the morning on Thursday by a man who threatened police officers.

Just before 3 a.m. police received a 911 call, but hung up, leading dispatchers to believe she may be in medical distress. Dispatchers traced her call to 8 Thompson Rd., which is where Power Service Concepts is located.

When they arrived the officers interrupted the assault while it was happening. The woman ran to police, but the suspect then held a knife out at them. He was ordered at gunpoint to drop it by officers, but didn’t so a Taser was used to subdue him. However, after the Taser the suspect turned the knife on himself and cut his throat.

The victim and suspect were both taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment.

Police are not releasing the name of the suspect until the investigation is complete, but an arrest is imminent.
