HARTFORD–A large water main break on Sisson Avenue caused the I-84 exit 46 on and off ramps to be shut down, as well as Sisson Avenue between Capitol Avenue and Warrenton Avenue for several hours.
MDC says they shut water off to fix the 12-inch break around 9:20 p.m. The only building without water is the Sisson Avenue Hartford Fire house. Crews fully restored water service at 4:45 a.m.
Foley also tweeted that the water was reaching basements nearby, including the basement for the fire house, which was evacuated and the trucks are being moved down the street.
No one was hurt, but police are investigating the crash as a DUI.
