NEW LONDON - Radio Shack is going into bankruptcy. Today was the last day people could use gift cards, store credits, or return items at the New London location. Other stories are winding down their transactions on March 31.
There are 59 RadioShack's in Connecticut, 24 of them are closing. People are more technologically savvy than they were when RadioShack opened its first store in the 1920s.
At its birth, it was mainly for radio operators aboard ships. Consumer electronics have come a long way.
