DURHAM–A proposed solar farm won’t come to fruition in Durham after council members voted down the measure.

Residents showed up at town hall to weigh in on the proposal, which would place a solar farm at the corner of Haddam Quarter Road and Brick Lane. The map below shows where exactly the farm was proposed to be built.

Two of the three members voted against the measure, which many residents were happy about. The main complaint against the solar farm was the location–many residents agree with the idea, but think it needs to be built somewhere else, and they want a say in where that is.

The council will now search for a new location in town to build on.
