9 guns stolen in 2 separate incidents in New Haven

NEW HAVEN – Police are searching for two men who robbed the home office of Longobardi Oil on Alden Avenue on Wednesday, March 9, and made off with over a thousand dollars in cash, company checks, and a .380 caliber handgun.

A fifty-year old woman, who answered doorbell, was tied up with a phone cord on the floor and then shoved into the bathroom.  As soon as she heard the robbers leave, she came out and called the police.

The robbers, identified as a men wearing all black and hooded sweatshirts, were about 5’6″ and 6’0′ tall respectively, and were last seen walking on Alden Avenue to Woodbridge Avenue.

In a separate incident, police are also investigating a home invasion which occurred on Tuesday, March 10, where eight guns were taken, including three shotguns, a rifle, and four handguns.

The forty-six year old homeowner reported that he’d returned home from work to find his front door broken into and the guns missing, as well as an estimated eight thousand dollars worth of jewelry.
