Man shot in New Haven, police investigating

NEW HAVEN- Police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg at a lounge on Crown Street Sunday afternoon.

Authorities responded at 5:40 pm  to the Uptown Upscale Lounge at 216 Crown Street on reports of a shooting.

Police say the victim, 24-year old Norman Walters, suffered a single gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he was treated for non life threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are still  investigating the incident.
